Why We Are Here

We believe, as women, that God, in his infinite wisdom, created both men and women. It has been proven - by both our faith and science - that men and women are "wired differently." Men and women view different things, including crisis, in different fashion.

With that basic idea, the Women's Network of Support was founded. Three things make this ministry both credible and viable.

Most all of us, again, recognize the differences between the reactions of men and women to crisis situations. What may be considered extremely important to a woman may appear to be nearly trivial to a man. Of course, the opposite is also true -- exhibit A = SuperBowl Sunday.

From the beginning, women have gathered together for the mutual support of one another. Men have done the same. This is a natural progression of the first reason, above. Women should seek out other women for support - further - Women should expect greater concern and empathy "from our own kind." In other words, women know what women need. See, also, Dr. James Dobson's reinforcement of this point.

Because of the second reason above, we believe that a woman with problems - especially a woman with no where to turn - will find a womans' support group more "approachable." The sooner problems are solved ... the sooner the pain ends ... the sooner healing begins.
Do note, however, that the Women's Network of Support does not exist solely for crisis support. We have on-going efforts in education and service areas, as well. We are established as an all-round benevolent effort focused on women's needs.

None of this should be construed as feminist - nor should anyone join the efforts of Women's Network of Support as an opportunity for male-bashing. Good men are involved with this ministry, as well - just not at the "point of contact."

We simply have seen a need in the "female community" and, with the grace and help of God, we will fill that need.
