BECKHAM
 

RICHARD LEE BECKHAM , 58, of Houston, lost his courageous battle with renal cell cancer on April 14, 2005. He was born July 15, 1946 to Harold & Lela Beckham in Pampa, Texas. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was in the Vietnam War; during his tour in the military he was awarded 3 Bronze Stars, 1 Silver Star, and 2 Purple Hearts. He lived most of his life in Amarillo and Houston. His parents and 1 sister precede him in death.

He leaves behind his wife, Marilyn Williams-Beckham of Houston; sister, Cheri and her husband Bill Duggan and nephew, Matthew Duggan of Missouri City, Texas; two sons, Lynn Rector of Amarillo, TX and Master Sergeant Stephen Rector of Chapin, SC; a daughter, Amy Garcia of Amarillo, TX and 8 grandchildren, Cody, Sarah, Morgan, Alison, Hannah, and Spencer Rector, Leah & Anissa Garcia; and his loving pets.

One of the many gifts Richard leaves with us is his unconditional love for family and many friends. Everyone whose life he has touched will miss his unfailing sense of honor, honesty and Christian morals. We are saddened by his passing and celebrate that he is in the loving arms of God.

A viewing will be held Sunday, April 17, 2005 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Services. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 18, 10:00 a.m., at Miller Funeral Services. Robert P. Vail

 

Robert P. Vail, 58, formerly of Pampa and a Lubbock            businessman, passed away early Saturday morning in his home of respiratory complications.

  He graduated from University of Arizona in 1966, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was the son of the late Bob and Claudine Vail of Pampa.

   Robert is survived by his sister Julia Vail Smith; brother-in-law Dwight Smith; two nephews and a niece, all of Montana; cousins, Matt Horne of Lubbock, Debra Horne of Midland, Dina Peltier of Lamesa; and an aunt, Marge Peltier also of Lamesa.

   Friends are welcome to visit at his home, 3304 20th St. on May 11, 2005 from 2 to 6 p.m.

   Cremation is under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

DIED:        September 15, 2005

SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 19, 2005 at Memory Gardens Cemetary, with Rev. Fines Marchman, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Skellytown, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. 

BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Parker was born December 12, 1945 in Pampa.  He had been a resident of Border since 1970, moving to Pampa in 2005. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War.  He worked for Phillips Petroleum in Borger for many years.

SURVIVORS: 2 Daughters: Nancy Canada of Palestine, and Beverly Wollitz of Lorena. 1 Son: Michael Parker of San Juan Capistrano, California.  1 Sister: Joann Nash of Amarillo, 3 Brothers: Bob Parker of Pampa, Don Parker of Borger, and Jim Parker of Austin.  1 Grandaughter: Coral Wollitz of Lorena, 4 Grandsons: Casey Canada and Logan Canada, both of Palestine, Shane Hutton of San Juan Capistrano, California, and Bryce Wollitz of Lorena.

DeMoss, Anita

Anita Louise Dunham (DeMoss

 Born:   December 1, 1946               

Deceased:  January 9, 2006

Anita Louise Dunham, age 59, passed away on January 9, 2006 after a long fight against colon cancer. She was born on December 1, 1946 to parents Charles and Datha DeMoss in Pampa, Texas.

At age 16, she met the love of her life, Clayton, “Lucky” Dunham. They married and had 40 years of amazing adventures. They raised three children, Tracy Dunham-Gaylor, Derek Dunham and Nicole Adams.

They lived and traveled all over the world making friends from far away places. She was an amazing wife, mother and daughter. She was known to all for her strength, her beautiful smile and her kind manner.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Charlotte and George Rogowski, Rodney and Vesta DeMoss, Greggory and Kathy Dunham. She is also survived by several nieces , nephews and her sons-in-law.

She wanted to be remembered as having loved and having been loved. She was our angel here on earth and now she is our angel in Heaven. She is finally at peace. We all miss her dearly.

Memorial Services will be held at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home,9700 Anderson Mill Road, on January 12, 2006 at 10:30 a.m.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to all of her physicians, especially Dr. Fain for his caring manner.

Rex Wheatley Rose
 

LUBBOCK, TEXAS - Rex Wheatley Rose, 59, of Lubbock, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m.Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pampa with the Rev. Linda Kelly, rector, officiating. Mr. Rose's ashes will be buried next to his parents in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, Texas.

Mr. Rose was born on April 19th, 1946, in Pampa to Rex R. and Maxine Wheatley Rose. He was a 1964 graduate of Pampa High School and attended Texas Tech University where he studied art history. He was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and was an avid collector of fine antiques. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Jane Johnson and husband David; a niece, Taylor Johnson; and nephew, Greer Johnson, all of Amarillo.

 

Addendum:

Ann Qualls Thompson has spoken to Rex’s sister (Mary Jane Johnson).  She has given permission for us to let everyone know that Rex had Pickwickian syndrome. His heart was enlarged due to obesity, and it finally gave out - resulting in his death. She has suggested that anyone wanting more information about Pickwickian syndrome can go to Ask Jeeves on the internet.
