Step 4

Stuff the Diode, Two Chokes,
And Electrolytics on the Board

Diode - 1N914 - Notice correct position of the black band! Bend the leads about 1/8" away from the body.
RFC1 - 180uh Choke (Silver, Brown, Grey, Brown, Silver) May vary in value from 180 to 560uh (has square ends, about the size of a one watt resistor). Bend the leads about 1/8" away from the body.
RFC2 - 22uh Choke (Silver, Red, Red, Black, Silver) In most cases, the 22uh choke will be smaller in size than the 180uh choke about the size of a 1/2 to 1/4 watt resistor. Bend the leads about 1/8" away from the body.

Please note: Electrolytics are "polarized". They have a "negative" and "positive" side. The negative wire is marked with a strip with a bunch of "-" and is the shorter wire, the other wire is the positive and is the longer wire. The positive wire must be placed where the "+" mark is on the board.

C12, C21 - 2.2 mfd - Note "+" side
C18, C26 - 1 mfd (105) Nonpolarized
C22 - 470 mfd - Note "+" side
C37 - 100 mfd - Note "+" side
C24 - 1000 mfd - Note "+" side
