Protective Orders
  • Available whether married or living together
  • Issued if divorce proceeding are not in process
  • Can prohibit violence, communication,
    going near home, work, or day care, and
    harassment

    SEXUAL ASSAULT

  • Call Police
  • File a report
  • Make a complaint (Victims can rescind
    that decision later, but lost evidence can
    not be retrieved.)

    OTHER CRIME VICTIMS

  • Victims of violent crimes
  • Dependents of deceased victims
  • Funeral expenses resulting from a crime
  • Losses not covered: pain, suffering, or
    stolen or damaged property
