Nothing displays on the Monitor?

  1.       Check  the computer and monitor to see if they are plugged into the wall outlet
and to the back of the computer.  Sometimes cords pull out enough to not make a good connection.

  2.       If you are using a power strip, plug the computer directly into an outlet instead.  (Make sure your
power strip is switched in the "ON" position.

  3.       Plug the computer monitor  into a separate outlet to check if  there may have been a blown circuit.

  4.       If the computer is freezing, you may have too many programs running at one time. Try running fewer
programs and restart your computer often to free up memory.

The screen is black.

  1.      Make sure the monitor is on.  (A green light should display on the lower right side).

  2.      Check the power cord for a good connection.

  3.      Power off the monitor and Power it back on.  Notice the light changing from green to orange?

  4.      Check the buttons on the front of the monitor, brightness may have been turned down.

  5.      Monitors do begin to darken whenever they are about to burn out.  If you feel your monitor is on
its way out, please notify me so a replacement can be ordered.

  6.      If none of these situations apply, please call or email me .

Non-System Disk Error

    2.  Eject the disk and retry.

Keyboard is Frozen

     1.  Check the keyboard's connection to your computer and see that it is plugged in properly.

    2.  Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and check your task manager to see if any programs are not responding.

In this case, close them and see if it helps your problem.

    3.  Restart your computer.

Mouse Doesn't Work

1.  Check your mouse's connection to your computer and see that it is plugged in properly.

2.  Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and check your task manager to see if any programs are not responding.  In this case, close

them and see if it helps your problem.

3.  Restart your computer.

System is Slow

If your system is running slowly, you have a couple of options to fix your problem.

1.  You may be running too many programs.  Try closing some of the programs you're running by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete and close any program you are not currently using.

2.  Your computer may have corrupted and/or unnecessary files on it.  Go to Programs> Accessories> System Tools and try running the Disk Defragmenter and Disk Cleanup.  This will remove unnecessary and corrupted files on your computer.

Vanished Document

1.  If your document has seemingly vanished into thin air, you may have just opened a new window.   Close the current window you're viewing and that will probably reveal your document.

Icon Disappeared

1.  You may have accidentally moved one icon over another.  Try clicking and dragging away each icon to see if any lie underneath.

2.  If this fails, create a new icon for your program by finding the program from the Start taskbar, clicking the program and dragging it to the desktop.  By doing this, you've created a new shortcut that will appear on your desktop.

Cannot Find Network

1.  If you get this message when you try to go online, you won't be able to use the internet.

2.  See if your internet cable is connected to your computer and make sure that you have signed on.

3.  If neither of these work, you may have problems with your internet provider whom you should now contact.

Printer not found

1.  You either don't have a printer installed on your computer, or you did it incorrectly.

2.  Go back through your printer setup and recheck everything.

Printer Help

PRINTER HELP DESK

My printer is not printing.  The Printer you are using may need a new ink cartridge.  This is not always the case, but it is always a good place to begin once a printer that was working fine, suddenly stops.  To check to see if you are out of ink:  Click on START; SETTINGS; PRINTERS and select your printer, by "double clicking"

Now, click on  PRINTER, then click on PROPERTIES, and click on "Print Test Page" and click OK.  The printer should print a test page.  If this page looks great, you are not out of ink.  If this page WILL NOT PRINT, move to next step.

Installing a new ink cartridge:  1.  Locate the correct replacement.  2.  Remove protective tape along edge before inserting into the printer.  3.  Do not use force, and place the cartridge into the printer.  4.  Close lid.  5.  Go to START; SETTINGS; PRINTERS and select your printer, by "double clicking"  Now, click on  PRINTER then click on PROPERTIES and click on "Print Test Page" and click OK.  The printer should print a test page.

My printer is not printing.  (Maybe you heard a bad noise?)   A printer that will not print may have a paper jam.  If you have any lights that are flashing red or that are on that normally aren't on, inspect the printer.  It is VERY IMPORTANT that you do not FORCE any paper from the printer.  Paper will sometimes tear and create a larger jam.  Other times gears my become stripped when paper is pulled in the incorrect direction.  Please note that many printers have a release tray in the back to remove the jam, just twist the knob and remove the back panel to easily remove the paper jam.  If you are not comfortable about removing a paper jam, please send and e-mail to contact support (Mrs. McAnally) as soon as possible.

My printer is not printing.  (Maybe you relocated your printer?) The printer may have come unplugged from the workstation.  Please check the cables to the printer and workstation.

My printer is not printing correctly.  I have no idea what happened and I have tried everything.   Rest assured there is some software that will cause the printer drivers to corrupt and cause your printer to print out symbols etc.  If this happens, please contact support .

PRINTER INK:
Using the following Chart, locate your printer model and corresponding ink cartridge. Once you have determined the correct replacement part, contact Mrs. McAnally  for a new cartridge.  (Please don't throw out the old one it may be fine.  There is a possibility that the new one won't fix the problem you are having with your printer.)

Please note that some printers only need one cartridge, while others require a full color and black to work properly.
